On July 18, 2025, the 2025 China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference kicked off in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Centered on "promoting regional economic cooperation and exchanges," the conference focused on new trends in trade cooperation, aiming to build a bridge for local economic and trade exchanges between China and SCO member states and facilitate win-win cooperation in economic development, trade, investment, and industrial collaboration. Che Changbo, Secretary-General of the China Mining Association, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech at the "Equipment Manufacturing Technology International Cooperation Dialogue and Matchmaking Conference."
In his speech, Che emphasized that mining serves as the cornerstone of human civilization progress, providing the "grain and blood" for industrial manufacturing and forming the fundamental basis of economic and social development. Mining equipment manufacturing technology, he noted, is the core support for the mining industry's growth. As the global mining sector enters a critical transformation toward large-scale intensification, smart intelligence, and low-carbon green development, deepening international cooperation has become an inevitable choice.
Che highlighted that China's mining equipment manufacturing industry has made significant progress supported by its overall industrialization level, with some fields ranking among the world's advanced. A number of leading enterprises have gained a significant share in the global market. Shandong Province, as a stronghold in mining and mining engineering machinery manufacturing, boasts a solid industrial foundation and a complete range of equipment. However, he added, further exchanges and cooperation with international counterparts are still needed in key areas such as high-end material research and precision component manufacturing.
Che also extended a warm invitation to participants, welcoming them to attend the 2025 (27th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition, hosted by the China Mining Association in Tianjin from October 23 to 25. With the theme "Connect and Collaborate, Co-Build and Co-Share", this year's conference will feature a mining machinery and equipment expo, along with multiple thematic forums and promotion events related to mining equipment.
Over 150 participants attended the Equipment Manufacturing Technology International Cooperation Dialogue and Matchmaking Conference, including representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone of the United Arab Emirates, Chinese government departments such as the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Shandong Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as leading equipment manufacturing enterprises and industry associations.
