On the morning of June 18, 2025, Che Changbo, Secretary-General of the China Mining Association, led a delegation to visit the Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay in China, holding friendly talks with Deputy Head of the Embassy and Minister-Counselor Martín Orlando. The two sides communicated and exchanged views on issues such as participating in the 2025 (27th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition and deepening mining cooperation between China and Uruguay.

Secretary-General Che Changbo first expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay in China for its long-term support for participating in the China Mining Conference and Exhibition. He sincerely invited Uruguayan diplomatic envoys in China, leaders of mining authorities, and enterprise representatives to continue participating in the 2025 (27th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition. He noted that Uruguay has rich mineral resource potential and proposed strengthening preliminary exploration work to provide a solid resource foundation for mining development cooperation. As an important platform for international mining cooperation, the China Mining Association and the China Mining Conference and Exhibition will continue to build high-quality communication channels for enterprises of the two countries. It is expected that the Uruguayan delegation will participate in the Conference to carry out activities such as mining project promotion, exhibitions, and bilateral negotiations, so as to effectively promote practical mining cooperation between the two sides.

Deputy Head of the Embassy Martín Orlando warmly welcomed the visit of Secretary-General Che Changbo and his delegation. He thanked the China Mining Association for its long-term support for the development of Uruguay's mining industry and affirmed the key value of the "China-Latin America Forum on Sustainable Mining Development" under the framework of the Mining Conference in connecting the mining resources of the two countries. He stated that the new Uruguayan government has listed mining cooperation as a priority. He agreed that exploration cooperation is the "critical first step" for bilateral mining cooperation and said that the Uruguayan Embassy in China will convey the cooperation proposals to the domestic mining authorities and actively promote the participation of Uruguayan enterprises in the Conference and Exhibition.
Relevant personnel from the Commercial Office of the Uruguayan Embassy in China, Zhao Kuitao, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Mining Association, and relevant comrades from the Department of International Cooperation attended the meeting.
