On the morning of June 5, Cheng Liwei, President of the China Mining Association (CMA), met with Sun Junbo, President of the Sudanese Chinese Mining Association, and his delegation in Beijing. The two sides held in-depth discussions on interactive cooperation between the 2026 Saudi Future Minerals Forum and the 27th (2025) China Mining Conference and Exhibition, the establishment of a mining right exhibition and auction mechanism, and the joint construction of industrial chain parks.

President Cheng Liwei first expressed gratitude to the Sudanese Chinese Mining Association for its strong support in facilitating communication between CMA and the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. He noted that Sino-Saudi mining cooperation has entered a stage of improving quality and efficiency, and the rapid response of the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources to the demands of Chinese-funded enterprises fully demonstrates Saudi Arabia's high attention to the mining cooperation between the two countries. He highlighted the new "Mining Right Exhibition and Auction" section added to this year's Mining Congress, welcoming foreign mining right projects to participate in the exhibition. In the future, CMA will take the mining conferences of China and Saudi Arabia as twin engines to deepen breakthroughs in mineral right development, mining machinery, equipment capacity transfer, and industrial chain co-construction, comprehensively promoting the high-quality development of mining industries in both countries.

President Sun Junbo stated that Sino-Saudi mining cooperation has evolved from single projects to full industrial chain integration. This year, the Saudi delegation will continue to participate in the China Mining Conference and Exhibition, expecting deep linkage between the two countries' mining sectors in areas such as mining right information sharing and international enterprise docking to assist the development of mining enterprises from both nations.

The meeting was also attended by Che Changbo, Secretary-General of CMA; Wang Xinzhi, Executive President of the Sudanese Chinese Mining Association; Jia Wenliang, Vice President of the Sudanese Chinese Mining Association; and relevant responsible members of the International Cooperation Department of CMA.
